From time to time I meet with the opinion that independently deploying a comet server on Node.js is cheaper than using a saas comet server with a monthly payment.
Can someone share their experience, how much does it cost to maintain servers with Node.js to support a load of at least 1000 people online? And how much does a server capable of processing 100 messages per second cost?
I'm considering pricing plans for saas service comet and want to estimate the cost of deploying a similar infrastructure using Node.js
