How many virtual machines can a virtual switch handle?

Greetings!
Please tell me, 100 virtual machines are running on the server, all machines are connected to the Internet through one virtual switch, recently there was a failure with bsod in which the error code indicated a problem with network drivers, and after a couple of days the Internet on the server and on all VMs just disappeared, however on another server in the same network with the Internet there were no problems. A simple restart of the server fixed the problem. Could the occurrence of this error be due to the fact that all 100 vm are connected through one virtual switch? Or because the host OS is not a server one? Windows 10 host system.
