How many models to add to Lod and at what distance?

Question for the professionals!
Let's say we have a tree object and at what distance should we show the model with the best quality, average, and generally hide it?
the same with grass) maybe somewhere there are signs (recommendations) with similar information for destop and mob. devices?
How many model variants are recommended for LOD?
