USB flash drives

How many bytes will a 64 gig flash drive take?

Hello.
My computer was very stupid when I uploaded files to a 64 GB USB flash drive, I decided to cancel the operation, but when I canceled it, it stupidly hung, so I decided to remove the USB flash drive. I knew it was a bad idea. After that, I could not delete files from there. Wrote something like "busy device". Decided to format it. I launched dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdbit after unmounting, I'm waiting ... I'm still waiting ... 2 hours have passed, it's time to go to bed, but the flash drive is not ready. What kind of nonsense? Maybe this is how it should be? How long do you have to wait? Or what should I do? It's too late, I tried to get into Gparted before, unmounted the partition or did something else, I don't remember, honestly. In general, the flash drive is no longer seen by the laptop. What prompt to do? I need to turn off the laptop already, I want to sleep terribly
PS: I have Linux

This is typical Linux behavior when working with USB drives, no kidding, 2k19, and this bug from the beginning of the 2000s still pleases its users.
You will have to wait a long time, up to several hours. Better pull it out, then format it in GParted.
