How long does it take for a designer who has just completed courses to look for his first ux/ui offer?

I have long wanted to take courses on ux / ui, I like everything related to HTML, CSS, graphic editors, but I'm afraid that even after completing any courses, I will still apply for vacancies for many months and never get offer on hh

Any specialist speaks for his portfolio and cases, especially for a designer. Make 6-8 quality works, post them on behance. You must do at least above the market average in order to have a chance of a response from hr, and then your sale - you need to show how you delve into the client’s task and how you justify your decisions.
I suggest you immediately consider this task: take this page with a question, on which you are located and the page with your personal account on the Toaster. Try to make a redesign - re-layout, add useful information, interactive elements. Think about how to make more users come to write questions, answer answers and spend more time on the site. Use Stack Overflow, Reddit, Yandex.Q and social networks known to you as references
There is a lot to do here and here are some ideas for you:

  • Add profile view statistics, answer view statistics, add a bunch of graphs with views of your answers by tags to see progress
  • Change the achievement icons, add variety, add week/month/year temporary, add unique and premium ones for those who make a big contribution to the development of the community
  • Add feature (and standalone pages) "reply later" and "saved responses"
  • Reverse the response form a bit (indentation from blockquote and some other elements look bad)
  • Add ajax search in your answers - now it's a pain to find your answer the month before last

In the end, you can create a question right there and ask people what else they lack, I think you will immediately get more ideas)

Of course, that is exactly what will happen.
And not for several months, but for at least years, and then without guarantees.

If I were you, I would do 2-3 cool cases, for example, a redesign of a site with a rationale for why you are changing something, what you improve, what your decisions are based on. I designed them on Behance and then I was already looking for a job.
But with work there are 2 main ways:

  1. Get a job in some thread of small studios to fill your hand and put real cases in your portfolio
  2. To the big men for internships

But I will warn you right away that it will be very problematic to find an internship. Now there are a lot of intern and junior designers. Therefore, do not see the promises of online schools that they will adjust something for you, a friend has already flown by like that.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
