How is using addressable different from just loading resources?

Recently learned about such technology as addressable. After reading a little about it, the question arose of how this differs from the fact that I will simply load the necessary data through resources and upload them when unnecessary. Again, if the question is to pull data from the server or other places, why not use asset bundles? Interesting links that reveal the essence of what is happening are welcome)

Addressables are tricked-out asset bundles, in fact.
