How is MSSQL activated with per core licensing?

There is a purchased MSSQL per core for 6 cores, but the installation will be carried out on two six-core machines. For the first one, it will be necessary to allocate an MSSQL license for 4 cores, for the other, for 2 cores. Is this adjustable in any way during installation? Thank you.
