How is LMS (Moodle, "learning system") used in your university/institute?

People-students, tell me how you use LMS in your studies (Moodle, for example):?

— Which university/faculty?
- What engine are you using?
— Does it work within a department/faculty or a whole university?
- What is posted?
— Do you use testing and other possibilities of dist. education or just as a collection of teaching materials and files on topics?
- Is it used by students?
- Is it used by teachers (at least specialized ones)?
- Is there support "from above" (i.e. the dean's office obliges / recommends uploading information there) or is everything on a pure stud. enthusiasm?

I would like to raise within the department / faculty (IT profile) based on Moodle or OG Drupal, but I don’t see much enthusiasm among people.

I would like to use it at least for organizing and transferring the accumulated useful files from one generation to another.

Thank you :)

PS. The questions are not related to distance learning, but to the usual day / evening.

PS. I would be very grateful if someone shared the access-password from their LMS :)

International Banking Institute, St. Petersburg. Moodle has been in full use for 3 years now. I don’t know the engine and other details, but almost all the facts (I studied applied computer science, but friends from others, I know, also used it) I use it. We (the Faculty of Applied Informatics in Banking) posted materials for lectures, papers (tests), passed exams there.

We only kept assignments, theory and grades for the 1st subject there. In many subjects, only theory, more in our course the system is not used in any way.
Latvia, Daugavpils University, Information Technology course.

I found Moodle difficult to learn. Yes, and it loads the server. Now I'm looking at ATutor
