How is DHCP different on AD?

Help stupid. I don’t understand and can’t find a clear description of how DHCP on an AD server differs from DHCP on a gateway and why they don’t conflict.

For example, I have a DHCP zone on the gateway 10.0.0.1/24 and a DHCP zone on AD 10.0.0.100 - 200. Devices get IP in a completely random (for me) way from the gateway, then from AD, while there are no visible conflicts.

PS The Kerio gateway entered into the domain.

DHCP does not provide for protocol conflicts.
The client sends a DHCP broadcast request and waits for some time for responses from the servers. Then he selects any response he likes (for example, the first one that came or matches the previously issued IP) and confirms the lease of the address already communicating with the server that issued this response.

and why they do not conflict.

Do you have two domain controllers? There must be at least two. Otherwise, a lot of errors and defective work. Here there is an opportunity to make a DHCP reservation.

the main difference is that DHCP on AD automatically brings clients into DNS and there is always up-to-date information. by default, the client chooses the first DHCP responder. well, as noted earlier, deploying DHCP on AD, there are several options to make this service HA, which will allow you to service the equipment without interrupting the service.
