How is a certain code in the form of a regular string converted to another string?

The system has a module that displays the price of goods. It displays information from the Highload block, and receives it as a regular string from the element's prefix and XML_ID.
For example: "##SOTBIT_PRODUCT_XML_ID_35323527-B65B-4B7B-ABD7-CCCBE15E5A3A##".
How does this happen? I need to change the end string to look like "97.27 RUB", but all transformations are applied only to the original string.
