OpenVPN is preferable in this regard - set it up once and use it. Plus, you have a private network - for example, through it I help my mother with a computer who is 200 km from me and she does not have a white IP, but we are in the same VPN. In addition, I don't have to worry about changing IP - even when I'm on the road, I have access to working servers where filtering by IP. However, OpenVPN is slow and buggy. Eats "a lot" of resources - the cheapest VPS still pulls a few clients, but nothing more.
wireguard is part of the kernel. It's fast, reliable, secure. The fastest one on offer. However, it is still damp and there are not many manuals for it. On the other hand, if you do not need a virtual private network, you should probably choose it.
