How does Yandex-market cost a catalog?
Stores provide uploads to Yandex Market. The yml contains a list of categories. But after all, all stores have a different catalog structure, the number of nesting levels, different heading names, and even the number of headings and subheadings are different.
How does Yandex market build its rubricator out of all this?

Naturally, the rubricator is built manually, categories and products are created manually. Therefore, much of what is sold on the market does not have its own “cards”, and many categories are missing.
And then there is automatic work on: keywords in the names of goods and categories, manufacturers. Semantics. In general, as you name the product, which manufacturer you specify - so it will float (in the sense it will fall into that category). Lottery!
In general, there are enough mistakes, including funny ones. I remember that children's paint got into cosmetics

I can assume that the rubricator is created by hand, and then the headings from the store catalogs are mapped into their rubricator.
Most of the products are sorted into categories automatically. And some do not fall into categories and can only be found by searching. I believe that this analyzes the similarity of products already added to the catalog. But sometimes the algorithm is wrong. For example, we had a case that ovens got into dishwashers, simply because the modules had similar names. The problem was solved by a call to Yandex, they adjusted something there and everything began to get where it was needed.
