How does VPN work in WDS mode of Tplink wifi router?

Good afternoon.
You need to set the second tplink wifi router as a repeater, but this router must connect to the vpn server. Will the vpn connection work if wds is enabled?

The Repeater doesn't have to connect anywhere, it just relays the connection from another point to its clients.
