How does this section of the circuit relate to the rest of the circuit?

I start the motor from the drive using the LB11880 chip . Everything spins as it should. But I need to use the ability of this microcircuit - to rotate the engine in the opposite direction. To do this, you need to apply a certain pair of HIGH-LOW signals to the Xin and Yin inputs. I tried to apply both based on the table and by brute force, but the microcircuit does not have any reaction to this signal. Then I decided to open the microcircuit diagram in the datasheet and here is a piece that is responsible for exactly the same Xin and Yin inputs (bottom), and here are the outputs to the U, V, Y motor itself - out (right).

Why are the inputs Xin and Yin not tied to the outputs of the motor in any way, and generally do not participate in the work in any way, judging by the diagram? (Full diagram in datasheet )

This is a block diagram, not a circuit diagram. Therefore, there are no explicit connections, but there is a connection through the Output drive circuit.
upd: there is a description of each input and a connection diagram below in the datasheet.
