How does the Sega MegaDrive 2 read cartridges?
Available MegaDrive 2 and Raspberry Pi. There was such an idea: to unsolder the Raspberry GPIO port to a cartridge and insert it into a megadrive in order to run ROMs from an SD card on a set-top box, like cartridges (or, if we go even further, run applications on Raspberry, and only send an image to the megadrive - then it will be possible, for example, go to the Internet "through a megadrive").
So the question is: is it possible to implement this? What is the communication protocol between the cartridge and the console? Google gave only a couple of articles about the types of cartridges and independent programming of finished cartridges, but so far I have not found anything according to the protocol.
