How does the daemon behave on VDS?

Tell me please, do I understand correctly that if you start the daemon on VDS through putty, for example - it works until I end the session - and as soon as I close putty - it will end? (if so, how can I make it work all the same all the time)
To better understand, I'm talking about, for example, a demon that implements socketo.me

Nifiga. A daemon, by definition, does not run in a terminal, but as a background process. If not, start with the nohup prefix command and close the terminal - nohap will take care of it.
