How does the amount of text in an article affect SEO?

Hello!
I try to write short articles without unnecessary "water". However, in the top there are articles with a lot of extra information ( blogs ) and they have more text, respectively. I understand that a visitor comes to such an article and he has to read all this in order to reach the necessary information. He spends more time on the page, the behavioral factor increases, but this is not a reason to write various "fairy tales" so that the visitor strains and reads what he does not need? Or am I wrong?
I, in order to increase the amount of text, add various answers to the question that worries the visitor. And the key question...
Useless text to useful or short, relevant text. What will be better for SEO? We are talking about articles with the number of words ~ 100-300.
I will also be grateful for information and advice on this topic.

Search engines have long understood what the user reads and what not. So it's better to write a good text for people without water. And for search engines, the main thing is to optimize titles for keywords that have traffic.
Time on site is far from the most important behavioral factor. The most important - the person solved his problem or continued to search further.

The amount of text, the pace of publications, a unique set of words (the so-called uniqueness of the text) - do not matter to Google.
The search engine values original relevant content .
