How does RemoteApp linking and opening data from a file server work?

Good time of the day,
There are remote clients who have an Internet through ADSL. Now they connect to the network through a VPN and continue to use RDP. All data is stored on storage at the central office.
Tell me, if you use RemoteApp instead of RDP, how will applications work with files on the network and how will the user view them?
As I understand it, I will need to publish an explorer through which users will browse the network. How the system will behave if Word is installed on the user's PC and Word is published in RemoteApp, which will open the files.

Откроет то приложение которое вы скажите, при публикации в RemoteApp вы указываете, связывать ли это приложение с файлами указанных расширений на ПК пользователя.
Т.е. два режима:
1. На ПК свой Word, на Сервере свой
2. И там и там Серверный.
