How does opengl work from the inside?

How does OpenGL work , how is video memory accessed, for example, to draw a dot ? For example, when programming in assembler under DOS , you can set the video mode using the BIOS , select the resolution, and so on. I have not yet drawn in assembler, but it was a matter of pascal. These functions are essentially the same video card drivers to which you pass parameters and they output the same notorious point, or are the video drivers somehow implemented separately? I don’t understand this very well, don’t judge the correctness of the question. Please explain the difference between all these things and how it refers to low-level support if you throw links withdetailed explanations , I will be very grateful!

Without technical documentation for the adapter, you will not get to the accelerator.
This documentation is usually the proprietary property of iron manufacturers.
Something can be obtained by studying the drivers for Linux.
The finished detailed description is for you to submit - keep your pocket wider.
People spend years studying all this, and knowledge is collected bit by bit.

Flip through Kulakov, perhaps.
