How does Google Analytics calculate session duration?

What happens if you open the page of the site and do not make any movements? Will the entire time the page is open be counted as the user's time on the site?

But what if the user launched the embedded video and also did not scroll the page for several hours and did nothing with it?

And if, at the same time, he also switched to another tab and works there, but listens to what is happening on the page of interest to us?

Everything can be seen experimentally in real time. At the resource level, in the session settings, by default it is specified that the session will automatically end after 30 minutes of inactivity. https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2795871

The session, by default, ends after 30 minutes of inactivity, but you can set your own time.
But what if the user launched the embedded video and also did not scroll the page for several hours and did nothing with it?

That session will end. Typically, sites that have long videos will increase the inactivity time limit.
And if at the same time he also switched to another tab and works there, but listens to what is happening on the page of interest to us?

The session will continue.
