How does e-sim affect the battery as the second SIM in the phone?

I want to connect a second SIM card e-sim in an iPhone, but in our places tele2 (the only operator issuing e-sim), it catches badly, the connection often disappears and the device is looking for a network.
How will the second SIM affect the battery life if the network signal is bad and periodically disappears?

With a bad lost signal, the battery eats more.
I don’t know about fresh iPhones, maybe there is an option to turn off one of the two SIMs and turn it on as needed.
