How does Bitrix 1s multisite work?

Hey!
I don’t quite understand how multisite works in Bitrix.
We have such a task:
There are two different companies A and B, which are engaged in different things. Can we make a second site (via multisite) with a separate admin panel, server, etc.? So that we do not mix all customers, orders, etc.
