How do you (who are freelancing) show the customer the work done (website) that has not yet been paid (in full)?

Before that, I just gave a link to the archive on Yandex.disk. But there are some customers encrypted with obviously unreliable contacts. I would like to somehow protect myself from non-payment.

How to demonstrate the layout to the customer? - here is a similar question with answers. It is about layout. But I think the same thing with the backend, because the customer will not delve into your backend code, the main thing for him is the result.

I make a website on my hosting, I show it to the customer. After improvements, etc., I transfer it to the customer.
In some cases, for example, when a new customer needs to be given access to edit texts, etc., I embed checks for the domain, etc. in several places, i.e. if the customer copies the template files to himself, then it will not start because of an incorrect domain.
But in principle, you just need to work with proven reliable customers who you can trust))
