How do you use twig or smaty?

They can simplify foreach, if and echo. How do you display breadcrambs, menu, form widgets? Are they with <?php ?> already or are there convenient ways?

Simplify? Hardly templating for this. What could be simpler than foreach, if and echo? The main task of the template engine is to separate the display from the application logic. They are easier to shield. There are other goodies, but certainly not a simplification of foreach, if and echo.
