How do you protect your personal data on a PC?

Friends, after a week ago all valuables and money were taken out of my rented house in Thailand while I was sleeping, but nobly leaving my laptop, apparently so that I could earn myself more, I was puzzled by the issue of encrypting personal data, such as photos / videos /personal diary and other files containing information that is dear to me and possibly confidential. Naturally, I have all these files in the cloud, it's not about data backup, but rather their encryption and protection from unauthorized access, such as in cases of loss or theft.
Actually the question is this:
- What principles of personal data protection do you follow, how do you protect it, encrypt it, what interesting cases do you use, and most importantly, what software or bundle do you encrypt and protect work files, home videos with your wife and photos with children?
Somehow I tried to use open-source truecrypt for a long time, but somehow it didn’t take root, maybe I used it wrong and they will open my eyes now or maybe they will offer a replacement.

KeePass - for storing passwords.
TrueCrypt (old version) - for encrypting existing disk partitions and creating separate container files.
Files in the cloud can be encrypted file by file using BoxCryptor. But I work very slowly with photos.

It 's very detailed and paranoid here. Perhaps it depends on the organization and the stored data itself, but tar + gpg
is enough for my eyes

I'm driven by paranoia.
dm-crypt - the entire disk.
gnupg - mail/files/kwallet. it also encrypts various kinds of backup files and hangs on the clouds.
for complete paranoia, transfer /boot to a USB flash drive.

I just keep in the cloud (OneDrive/Dropbox/Google), passwords from all accounts online (in lastpass), so log in from a beech somewhere else only after confirmation

Frequently used data in dropbox is encrypted by BoxCryptor. As an alternative, you can use encfs, only, of course, in any case, if you mount an encrypted folder, you need to somehow unmount it by a timer or something else, otherwise it makes no sense (I automatically assume that working with data in the cloud without synchronizing this data on ZhD can only masochists).
Rarely used data of a large volume is stored locally under the kosher version of the trucrypt.
Files that are not very important, but you don’t really want to shine, can be hidden using Hide Folders 2009, but it’s true, nothing at all.

DiskCryptor - disk encryption (flash drives, virtual containers)
KeePass - password store
VipNet password generator

No way. I do not store personal data on my computer.
Porn is not a pity :)

FolderLock I make an encrypted object - a folder. And I store it in Google. Access from anywhere, but you just need to have this program, and know the password.
