How do you promote your Open Source developments?

I recently wrote a browser extension www.adrewind.net/ru to skip ads from YouTube bloggers, I think it will be useful to a wide audience. Unfortunately, there are no large budgets for advertising. As I understand it, there are 2 completely different groups of people, users and developers, and methods for them may be different. Who will share the experience?

A good OpenSource project promotes itself.
Spending money on advertising is already a commercial activity.
The degree of goodness is measured not only in the number of users but also in the number of forks.
Write an article about this on Habré - you will find out for sure!

Class! created a project that cuts out ads and says "it's a pity that I don't have money for advertising, I'll have to do without it"

- digests on Habré. You can write a separate article if the project is worth it
- VK thematic groups
- reddit

the product should solve some problem, then it will spread (whether it is fast is another question)

0. Only guerrilla marketing - comments on blogs, forums where parents of children who are stuck on YouTube communicate.
1. Make a separate paid version if you want to make money on this project. And no ads or "extortion" in the free version.
