How do you know which fonts can be used on the web and which can't?

Found and downloaded this font https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/rodrigotypo/lolapeluza
I connect it to the page - it doesn't work.
Loads fine in DevTools, no CSS errors. But doesn't work.
How to find out if it can be used on the web? On what basis does this happen?

The question is closed. It was a Font Squirell issue. Judging by the spam, they deliberately break the font.

Convert to WOFF EOT and SVG and make the whole site on them, there will be no problems and you don’t need to buy a license.

It is best to use either universal fonts, the list is here: www.wearymax.ru/webmasters/fonts
Or tightened with Google: https://fonts.google.com/
They will definitely be adequately displayed in various browsers, it is easy to connect them.
