How do you know what to upgrade?

You need to add 100% RAM, with such a processor I would bring it up to 16GB, if the motherboard of the laptop allows you to put 32GB, it will be useful when working with virtual machines, SSD is also good, but not for data storage, but for the OS itself and programs
I hope you have a 64-bit OS, otherwise it's pointless to expand the memory. With such tasks, the lack of RAM should be very noticeable. Set as much as your budget allows. An SSD will greatly improve system and application responsiveness. 120 should be enough to get the job done. And please don't disable the swap file. Move the hard drive to the CD drive. This is the optimal configuration for a laptop. Good luck.
They already said about the RAM, I’ll just add mobile Core i7, especially with the U index, which is an order of magnitude weaker than desktop ones at the same price, so for the future, if you need maximum power, assemble a desktop.
Yes, it's a good idea to replace the HDD with an SSD (it's better to take at least 240 GB, 120 GB may not be enough) and increase the memory to a minimum of 8 GB. After installing the SSD swap file must be disabled. SSD took Kingston, has been working for the third year.
For i7, 4gb RAM is nothing (minimum system requirements, so to speak), you need to change the RAM to 8 at least, and preferably 16gb. You also need to add at least a 250gb SSD.
PS: The configuration itself is approximately the same, only RAM 8, after installing the SSD, the laptop really started to work quickly. A Samsung 850 Pro 250 was specially bought so that there was space for both the system and working files, a caddy was bought for the archive - the speed of working with files on ssd and hdd disks is incomparable.
In any case, be a loser, it's all about the percentage, but you won't win. Now I explain why. The processor (judging by the memory) is most likely with a U index, a loss in performance, in the same Photoshop it will not work normally, forget about Lightroom (this program will load your RAM at the most unforgiving (if you open a full cycle of photos, let's say from a photoset, mmm .. approximately 300-500 photos in RAW)). RAM .. for your work at least 8GB. Well, as they said, be sure to SSD.
A few words about losing, for the money that you spend on upgrading a laptop, you can buy the same components for a PC, but at times more productive. And if you updated your laptop and your motherboard turned out to be weak (low-performance chips), then I would sit in a corner and cry.
