How do you know if you have caught a virus?

Let's say I downloaded virtual boh. I installed something in the virtual machine. It's viral, but I'll notice it in a week, could it be?
Of course the sandbox won't work for a week. Are there any viruses that you can't detect right away? I want to download an illustrator crack for my game, but I want to be safe.

Without analysis, you may not even notice in a year.

Until you install / run - you can not find it. And checking the file on virustotal.com might not show anything, at least not right away. The malware can also check whether it is running in a virtual machine.
There are many nuances and you can either not notice anything on your own, or it will be too late, you will pick up a cryptographer, for example. Or a miner, recently with crack-repacks, they have gone very difficult to remove.
Turn to specialists, but rather do not take risks, the consequences can be sad.

In your case, you can use sandboxie. And so, even an advanced user (and even a pro) no matter what tools he uses - there is no 100% guarantee of detection. This is where the price of malware sources starts from 10k bucks.
