Time Management

How do you implement time management?

How do you manage time? How do you manage tasks?
Do you have trackers and time trackers? Self-written or not?
In your opinion, is there a need to use a time tracker and how deep should you go? Is it worth using time trackers, where the developer himself marks the start of the task and marks the end himself, and the deadlines are set by PM / TL?
In general, any control systems, incl. trackers are negatively perceived by programmers. For the most part, due to lack of understanding and lack of vision for the project (or even a number of projects) as a whole and because of banal laziness.
But I don't want to overdo it.
What approach to control deadlines can you recommend?

IMHO, it is quite normal to control the time. Our progers perceive everything correctly.
Previously, when working with sysaid, they wrote a java program that jumped out by hotkey, the progers entered the task number when they finished working on it and took a new one - they entered the new task number, the time for the previous one was automatically calculated. The program connected to sysaid, received all the information about the task, applicants, and so on. Then the usual sql query and we have a cool report, who did what. According to this report, you could do anything. The program had additional statuses (meeting, lunch, etc.), you could also get information about how many meetings we had per month))
Now we are working with jira, there is a button to start work and finish for each task. As it is not yet convenient, and the reports are not convenient.
In general, based on 2 years of experience - I am for my self-written solution, which will go as far as possible for you. The main thing is not to go too far.

Do not punish Jira and its add-ons
for non-compliance, but politely remind "for a month now we have not been able to solve this and that", "well done, they did it in just 10 days, bonus"
