How do work tasks differ depending on the programming language?

Good afternoon!
I'm trying to decide on the choice of PL for studying, I choose between C ++ and Java. Does anyone have information about what tasks are mainly solved in both languages? What conditionally "more interesting"?

C++ and Java are mostly legacy support. For something new and interesting, you have to choose between Rust and Scala.
