How do two different silicon wafers form an np junction in solar cells?

Solar batteries, everywhere there is a lot of information from what it is made of and how it works and almost how it is produced. But how do they glue two different silicon elements, where one has boron in its composition, the other has a different chemical element. How do they connect 2 plates between each other, but how?
