How do LVM2 thin snapshots work?

Introductory:
There is an LVM2 thin volume with a FS on it, there are also 3 snapshots of this volume, each of which contains some changes.
The question is, when deleting the penultimate snapshot, how will recovery to the earliest one occur if some of the data on changing this volume was deleted along with the snapshot?

@Zoominger

Read how snapshots work.
Let's say there are three snapshots - the first, second and third.
You delete the second one, it merges with the first one and you are left with two snapshots - 1+2 and 3.
