How do I set up a personal (and rather specific) music relay server?
There is a link to MP3 streaming via HTTP with a bitrate of 256 (in this case, online broadcasting of Europa Plus radio), there is also a free VDS hosting in mind (haphost.com, don't consider it an advertisement!).
It is necessary - to configure VDS so that it downloads a file from a link, converts it to the OPUS format with the specified parameters (fundamentally OPUS !!!) and streams it using one of the popular protocols (at least http, at least ftp or something else). And preferably all in real time!
You can at least give a direction on which programs you can use for this, and then I’ll break my brain :-)
In principle, the option to set up this business on a Windows computer is suitable for me, if it’s too difficult with VDS (I’m not afraid of virtual machines ).
Why - listen to the radio on FM with a bad signal - a real mockery! But the phone has Internet access (with a bandwidth limit of 64 kbps if the limit is exceeded). The idea was born to build a server that would overtake online broadcasting in the OPUS format (I chose it because of acceptable quality at low bitrates) and give it to an Android mobile phone via a link. Yes, it looks strange, but... The skills of handling servers and related things are zero, but I'm pretty good with a computer (no, sitting in contact is not the limit!). Help me please!
