How do I resolve outlook problems with giant mailboxes (>40GB)?
Good afternoon. They asked for help with a problem. A user who works VERY intensively with mail has problems with otlook. Starting from a very long load thereof (up to half an hour), ending with constant slowdowns during operation. I looked at the mailbox size of this user and was stunned - more than 40 GB. Mail is configured through ms exchange, there is a caching mode. How can this problem be resolved? After all, if you create an archive mailbox on the server, the client will still load it, slow down and freeze in the same way. It will not be possible to delete this mail from the server, because the user actively uses the old correspondence, and sometimes there is a need to view it not from his computer (through OWA).

If categorically all the old correspondence is needed, then I would suggest looking towards commercial solutions for archiving boxes. They usually provide a WWW-interface to old letters with the ability to load them back into the mailbox.
Why send documents by mail? Store in some storage and send a link to the file. Do you really have 40GB of text.
Make a local archive on the user's computer, hit by quarters to get 2GB of one archive. You name the archives by year/quarter. The computer problem will be solved. At the owa account, make a second user and let owe get the archive there or vpn or teamviewer on the computer if he only goes from home. But all this is a rake. If he only goes from home to ovu, then as an option, languish the local archive on a flash drive and simply set up Outlook at home. Although you need to look at the root of what kind of letters are there, there may be obvious spam, letters with heavy files (we unlearn by limiting the maximum size of the letter).
