How do I make Windows show more portable hard drive capacity than it actually is?
I would like to surprise my friends and make it so that in Windows the portable hard drive does not display the real size of 500 Gb, but, for example, 2Tb.
So the question arises, how does Windows get information about the disk size? The file system is FAT 32.
Where is information about the size of the disk stored - in theory, in the firmware of the microcontroller of the disk? How can it be changed?
Has anyone tried digging into this area?

Yeah, of course "Surprise your friends."
I doubt it, I think you want to sell a 500 gig HDD as 1TB.
My friend was surprised by 2000 rubles. It brings such a type of hard drive, it does not write. We open there a 5GB disk 2.5 and an adapter, it is displayed as 1.5 terabytes.
Create a virtual machine with a dynamic disk size of 5 petabytes, or try to make a dynamic vhd disk, but I don’t remember if this is supported, and mount it.
