How do foreign keys reduce performance?
Can you please tell me when foreign keys reduce performance due to additional checks? Only about trying to change the data? Or about trying to get data too?
Also wondering if foreign keys are used when doing master-slave replication (given that all tables for which foreign keys are created are copied) - and is this operation expensive for performance?
