If we are talking about an advanced skeleton, then backend and frontend are two separate apps. They don't interact until you make the logic for it. Why should they interact? You have site.ru for which the frontend is responsible and admin.site.ru for which the backend is responsible. They are not connected in any way. They even have different databases.
Each of them has an input script (index.php) in which yii and frontend or backend are connected. Open it up and take a look.
