How do Android antiviruses work?

good afternoon! I had a question on a subject, after I read about Android security systems. Regarding android 6 and above. All applications are installed in sandboxes and a user and a folder are created for them where they can work. The antivirus should not have access to all other users-applications. How does it work technically? how does it go beyond OS limits?
