How different is iOS from Android, and when should you start learning the second platform?

I would like to at least start to understand the differences, but in general, if there are not so many differences, I would like to write a simple application on both ios and android, and compare how they work, since android studio has a kotlin multiplatform plugin, then you don’t have to study another development environment, this already, at least, simplifies the task.

And what are the differences worth reading about? I only know that the life cycle of the activity is different, and what else can you google that is obvious?

Differ considerably. There are no activities in iOS. Multiplatform is not some Xamarin to pick up and start writing. There is a high entry threshold and a lot of problems. And the differences in development environments are not in the first place at all. With your level of knowledge, you shouldn't go there.
You can start learning the second platform when you stop swimming in the simplest questions of the first.

If you have a Mac, start with iOS, if you have a PC, start with Android.
If you don't have a powerful computer, start developing for your phone (Android / iOS), at the start of the study, it's priceless to "touch" the result.
It's a matter of life, just get started.
