Questions regularly arise like this ...
Personally, I studied at the university for half the first year, then I listened to what they would tell us on the 5th and went to the army to mow from the institute (it’s all the same if not before, then after, because there was no money for a master’s degree).
But here, in my opinion, it depends on the university itself, the availability of banknotes and, in general, your goals.
Outback is one thing, something like MIPT is another, etc.
If you are on the Web, then they won’t teach you anything like that, which you couldn’t do on your own and in a shorter time. If applied, or where mathematics / physics / etc. is needed, then it is better to go.
Now, I had to enroll in absentia, and then only because of an acute desire to go over the hill (it’s easier with a diploma as a student).
But are you ready to explain to your mom/dad why you don't study? I have not had such problems, so in this regard it is easier. Maybe worth it in absentia at least? You will be able to devote most of your time to self-study, and in fact get it in short - there are legends that it is easier with it (or score right away if you manage to get a job).
