How dangerous is it to not update Wordpress these days?

Good afternoon.
How many dangerous (not some very specific CSRF, but, for example, sql injections) vulnerabilities remain in pure Wordpress at the moment?
The question arose due to the fact that a certain work with the code was carried out on the site, and in further updates for the sake of new functionality it is no longer needed, and new updates related to the database sometimes break the existing structure.

Let's assume that no critical vulnerabilities were found in some product for a year.
There is no guarantee that an extremely critical vulnerability will not be found in it tomorrow.
