How can you see how to restore a file if you completely changed its contents - saved and rebooted the computer?

For example, there was a main.css file, moved (instead of copying) and changed the content (or deleted what used to be) and saved.
How can I see the old content?
Yes, I had to use GIT, or rather, I should have just copied, and I moved.
