How can you do without a backend?

I'm going to a hackathon with my friends. Our project is a social service with an android application, and in general we need a backend part. But I'm not very sure that we will have time to write both the back and the application. As I understand it, it is enough to write a prototype at a hackathon, but how to write a prototype without a backing, how to replace it?

You answered your own question in a comment. You just need BaaS.
For example:
https://backendless.com
https://firebase.google.com/features/
From the main one, apparently, authorization through social networks is required. networks. And there and there it is, but it seems that there are more social networks in FireBase at the moment.
Of course, you first need to understand what functionality you need, because. it's not clear at all from the question.
But most likely it will not be possible to do without code at all.
After you analyze the basic functionality, think about what will be faster - write your own simple backend, or study the docks of a third-party service, because it can also take a lot of time to learn the API if you need to write some non-standard features.

Learn RAD frameworks like Rails or Laravel.
But these are completely different skills. Therefore, you need to have a good backend developer on your team.
