How can I restore the structure of an external hard drive?

Hello! I have an external hard drive of 1 GB on which the files flew. I tried to restore with different programs (hdd recovery, etc.), it reached 16% and the recovery was interrupted. Until some time, it was possible to at least walk through the restored folders on the disk, but after a quick windows format, which ended unsuccessfully, the disk was no longer detected in the system, although it sees its connection and offers to format the disk, which each time leads to a file. Tell me how at least you can restore the disk structure? it's all the same to the data, the main thing is to reanimate the disk ..

@ligisayan

1. Connect the disk directly to the PC
2. Boot from the Ubuntu LiveCD, look at the SMART of the disk, decrypt the parameters and see if it is worth doing something with it further.
3. If you want to continue, open GParted, erase the partition table, overwrite the MBR, create a partition, run a full format.
If this all sounds complicated, do nothing and sell the drive as non-working.

most likely already in any way, the patient is dead.
And it makes sense if he constantly loses data.
