How can I refer from the embedded script to the page (using one of the content_scripts files) to the file directly from the content_scripts list?

I know that it is possible to communicate between a background script and a script from content_scripts using runtime, but is it possible to communicate between an embedded script in a page and a file from the content_scripts list?
