How can I reduce the noise and buzz from the HDD?
There is a 1TB hard drive. It hums very strongly, the vibration from it goes even on the table.
How can you reduce the noise so that it is very quiet?
This hum is very distracting from work and it is impossible to sleep at night.
I have several solutions - put HDD 2.5. How good is the idea?
Now I have a Cougar MX-330G case. For hard drives, plastic sleds are used there, which transmit vibration and hum from the hard drive very well.
It seems to me that the problem is in it.
The second solution is to replace the case.
What other options are there? The computer is very close to the bed (3 - 4 meters), and at night you want to sleep peacefully.
I tried to replace it with an 8-year-old HDD 2.5 - it's quiet, but its volume is small.
I also pulled the "problem" disk out of the case and placed it on the book. It works, of course, quieter, but I think I won’t fall asleep.
Really remains only to use 2.5? Or is it still worth trying to replace the case?
