How can a non-designer choose a logo for a mobile app?

I am making an application in which you can get acquainted on various occasions (not necessarily shura-mura) and there is such a problem - I can’t decide on a logo at all. I tried dozens of logo generation services, looked through hundreds of ready-made ones - nothing suitable, I don’t even have an approximate understanding of what exactly is needed. I can order from a designer, but what is the probability that his logo will be liked, given that hundreds have not liked it before? What is usually done in such cases?

They don’t bother and either take the first one, from which they don’t feel sick, or go to a designer who, unlike you, understands this, pay him money and don’t show off on the topic “like / dislike”.
