How can 2 Unity developers work remotely on the same project from different OS?

We want to make a simple game with a friend, we want to work remotely, I have Windows, my friend has OS X. Where and how to store and synchronize files? I have private repositories on github, is it possible somehow through git, is it all a matter of committing?
I will listen to any suggestions, any experience on this topic will be very useful. Thanks

@Antonoff

in fact, everything is simple, you have a private repository:
something like this, but in general, I recommend Bitbucket more (as for me, more convenient), it is possible to create mercurial repositories, and for it, in turn, there is an excellent gui wrapper HgTortoise, for access via ssh from under Windows use Putty, if you get tired of entering the log / pass every time you commit.
