How are media devices connected in Ubuntu?

When you connect a flash drive, a new volume (sdb) is mounted and a folder with the contents of the flash drive appears in the /media/user/ directory.
But when I connect the phone (In the settings it is indicated to connect not as a USB drive, but as a media device), then none of the above happens. However, in nautilus, my phone appears in the "Devices" block, it can be opened, etc.
How can I get to the contents of the phone from the console?

Pressing ctrl+L shows the full path to the current directory. Open the device, look at the path and go there in the console.
